Faros is the largest beach on the south coast, only a few minutes from the island's airport. Beachside tavernas, cafes and numerous lodgings around Faros highlight that it has become a growing tourist resort.
The long beach consists of small pebbles and sand. In some spots in the sea there are big, smooth stone plates. Before the deeper water begins there is a shallow rock-enclosed trough, which is a perfect, always warm bath for little kids whom parents can keep an eye on as they enjoy what nearby tavernas have to offer.
Tip! A feature is an under-used concrete pier on the beach for small boats. It’s an ideal choice for families with kids, couples, young and older people. It is also suitable for water sports (canoe-cayak, wind-surfing, diving) and every summer beach volley tournaments are held.
