A small cove with a great history! The crystal clear waters, the wild beauty behind the green river gorge and a lake formed by the waters of the canyon create a magnificent vista of Ikaria’s north.
The ruins on the beach of the temple of goddess Artemis Tavropolos have made it a famous spot worldwide since ancient times. Recently built lodgings and restaurants close to the beach have created a small touristic region.
Tip! In recent years the beach has been uncrowded, gathering many visitors, especially young people and couples. It is sandy and pebbly throughout, not organised. Take care swimming , because of frequent strong sea currents.

Access is by descending several steps from the main road, where private vehicles can be left.
