PRESS RELEASE

The Port Authority of Ikaria inform owners of vessels that Law 4256/14 (Government Gazette 155A/30-7-14) occurred amendment to Article 14 § 4a and simultaneously added to article 13 § c in Law 4256 (Government Gazette 92A 04/14/2014) pursuant to which the movement and circulation:

a) recreational vessels and commercial tourist imeroploion (ie each vessel having an overall length of more than seven (7) metres, sailboat or motor)

b) small boats or other marine resources which are considered recreational speedboats accordance with applicable regulations port is allowed only if they are insured for:

i) Liability for bodily injury or death of third occupant impact, collision, sinking or any other cause. The sum insured is fixed at fifty thousand (50,000) per passenger, and can not be less than five hundred thousand (500,000) per incident.

ii) Liability for damage to property of third occupant impact, collision, sinking or any other cause. The sum insured is fixed at one hundred and fifty thousand (150,000) euros.

iii) Prevention of marine pollution. The sum insured is fixed at one hundred and fifty thousand (150,000) euros.

That is the change that occurred on 7/30/2014 all vessels over 7 metres (excluding commercial fishing) and the vessels speed should be insured.

Notwithstanding any criminal penalties, violators fined five thousand euros (5.000 €) to twenty-five thousand euros (25.000 €).
